Dear Ban Ki-Moon, We the People of Nigeria, demand the immediate removal of Prof. Jeffrey Sachs from Nigeria due to his recent interference with the National Issue that the entire nation is protesting against. Prof. Jeffrey Sachs is not serving the interest of the citizens of Nigeria. And he has contravened in an issue that affect the lives of Nigerians negatively. The issue of Fuel Subsidy is the sole decision of the People of Nigeria and not the International community. As a representative of the UN, He should have advised the President that in a democracy, Elected officials dialogue and not dictate, they serve, not rule. Nigerians want Infrastructural Development and better Human Development Indicators but not through the planned way of Subsidy Removal but by the cutting of Waste and reduction of Government spending. In a time when the Country is faced with looming security threats, high levels of corruption, rising domestic and international debt profile, unprecedented environmental degradation in the Niger Delta, and lack of trust and confident in the government to correctly handle issues, it is very ill-advised and wrong-timed to remove the fuel subsidy. We request that he should be withdrawn immediately from Nigeria.
