Windlehurst Park Equipment Replacement

I think we should arrange a fundraiser to help raise the funds. We can't let this happen as it will just be another set of flats going up or left to rot. This park was where my brother and I grew up (we live next door)! What are they going to do with the land if we don't save it. Whichever person sued for their child falling off the swing really mustn't know what they have done! Really, where there's a blame there's a claim is the culture these days and it's all wrong. We need to save our childhood for other children to enjoy growing up. It's part of high lane!

Disgrace what they are doing! Played footy on there as a kid.

A knee jerk reaction to one accident. Come along SMBC, get a grip

Such a short sighted decision - how much will it cost to replace it now?

Please save the park. There is nothing in high lane for children, so removal of this sweet little park means something else the children have to go with out. High lane is always last on the council list

The park was donated by a relative for the recreation of the children of Windlehurst. The swings have been there over fifty years to my knowledge without any major accidents or health and safety issues! What a shame that they have been removed leaving very little for the next generation of children to play on!

One of few parks where parents still share time together with their young children. How can a skateboard park be safer than a swing? Why don't the council just place a disclaimer notice putting any onus on the parents who allow their children to play there. Stop this namby pamby decision making taking over our lives.
