Our parks should be protected and well maintained not destroyed and left as wasteland!

I'm so glad that somebody has started this petition, I only saw the signs this weekend and was going to contact the council. I seem to remember that High Lane resident association had to raise funds to upgrade the big High Lane Park, so that leaves me to question what the council actually do with our money?

This park is used daily despite the 'unsafe' surfacing. It should have been replaced years ago, it needs upgrading not tearing out!

How much to re-equip this park? - just a few thousand is the answer. The least the council can do is re-equip the park - after all the amount of council tax paid in High Lane would cover this many many times over- yet as usual the bare minimum is spent on an "affluent area". This would not happen in Brinnington or Adswood. Double standards! The

Have enjoyed the play equipment for years, first with children and now with grandchildren. Do understand and agree with safety legislation. The hard surfaces under the slide and the now non-existent swings are not safe. The park is also highly valued as an open area for adults with learning disabilities who meet at W. Church and use it for walking circuits and picnic lunches on Thursdays. Am happy to support your campaign and know that our group will help with fund-raising. Suggest you also do a paper petition as am sure elderly people from Windlehurst Church will want to support you. Again, happy to co-ordinate that.

It's ridiculous that tgey have done this, I bet if we lived in a deprived area of Stockport it would be done in a flash and no expense spared. Yet again we are being punished for working hard!!!!!
