We have been renting our house for a little while now. Our renters are screened by the Chimney Hill Rental Office and we have had no issues with our renters. We promote Wilmington and Dover stores and restaurants and our renters contribute to the Wilmington and Dover economies.

Wilmington’s businesses depend on guests to the area. Safe housing for short term rentals is essential.

Short term rentals are bringing more people into the area, this is a ski-area location, where many people want to rent a cabin//chalet, not a place in the city. Constraints like this will kill many investments (including ours) & will consider leaving the area. Not to mention a further negative impact on local economy, as was shown in the study.

I’m signing because I am for sensible regulation without the total loss of one’s autonomy.

As a full time resident of Wilmington, I've seen the positive impact that short-term rentals have had on our community. They not only provide a boost to our local economy but also allow us to share the beauty of our town with visitors from near and far. I believe that sensible regulations are the key to ensuring that STRs continue to benefit both homeowners and the broader community. Let's work together to find a solution that promotes responsible hosting, safety, and economic growth for all.

I work in the rental in Cleaning industry, and I would absolutely be adversely affected if we limited short term rentals. Please understand my livelihood is at stake.

We live in a neighborhood that is mostly second homes. STRs help not only owners but the Wilmington and Dover communities by bringing in outside money to restaurants, shops, small businesses, Mount Snow, service industries and golf courses.

The local economy is based primarily on tourism. If managed properly STRs could provide great value to the entire community.

I believe we need guidelines for STR but we also need to find a happy medium that we can all agree on.

We are a resort town. STR's provide lodging for visitors who are a huge source of revenue for the local economy, which provides jobs for locals and supports local small businesses. Heavily restricting STR's will have a vastly negative ripple effect throughout Dover and Wilmington's economies, including but not limited to a major decrease in property values and loss of jobs. There is a way to reasonably regulate STR's without completely restricting them and damaging many small business owners livelihoods.

Many locals, waitresses, store attendants etc. have repeatedly lamented at how nice it is to live in vermont but that it is very hard to make a living. With the uncertaintly of climate change and a shortened winter season, it seems that banning short term rentals would decrease tourism and make it harder for locals to make a living.

You are punishing your own people by doing this. I am not sure why

Short term rentals keep small businesses alive. Vermont is one of the lowest population state in the country. With less people traveling, there will be less people spending money at super markets, restaurants, gas stations, and attractions. Stores in this area already struggle staying open. Most are only open 5 days a week.

Short term rentals when handled properly help to drive economic benefits to the community. Tourism increases as people frequenting restaurants, bars, local shops, community events etc. often encouraged and promoted by the homeowners. It supports good jobs, cleaning services, contractors all who help to maintain the homes. We would love to be in Wilmington all the time but equally love sharing this great community and all our favorite places with friends, family and tourists. Being able to have some short term rentals makes this feasible for us.

My family and I (kids ages 6, 8, 14) love Wilmington and want to be there as much as possible, but some level of rental income would certainly make staying more financially feasible, and should provide additional commerce to the town as well as neighboring towns. We would also put a minimum age on any rental profile and will have and exterior camera placed on our house to see the number of cars and ppl coming in. Thank you for listening.
