I feel very safe at Williamsville South High School, however, other schools such as Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida are not very safe. This is because of a mass shooting that took place there recently. Gun violence is a serious problem that must be addressed immediately. It is time for Congress to start acting and pass gun control legislation to prevent tragedies like the Stoneman Douglas High School shooting from happening again. I applaud the courageous survivors of the shooting for speaking out in support of gun control and standing up to those who oppose action to end gun violence. We the People of the United States of America demand our government to stop doing what is political and start doing what is right and take action to keep guns out of the hands of criminals and the mentally ill. Thoughts and prayers are not going to stop gun violence, it is time for some action before there is another mass shooting.
