The revitalization of Upper Princess Street through Williamsville is an exciting opportunity to demonstrate that Kingston is a national leader in sustainable and active transportation. By providing infrastructure that is safe and encouraging to people who want to cycle, Williamsville could create a busy hub of activity; enhance flow of motorists, cyclists and pedestrians; promote business development; reduce greenhouse gases; and foster health and well-being in our City. Unfortunately, the current design for Williamsville falls short on this potential. To genuinely facilitate active transportation is to provide a sustainable infrastructure. Please sign this petition and support all City efforts to make the Williamsville infrastructure acceptable to active transportation users: complete with a segregated bicycle lane that will separate bicycle traffic from motor vehicles.

I used to bike here all the time but stopped because of how aggressive the traffic is. Hope the city listens to this.

Why build something new if its just gonna be outdated the day it opens? Paint is not infrastructure.

kingston needs to get with the times. look at other cities and how they do it. segregated lanes are the only way to go.

Princess st is an absolute nightmare during rush hour. Segregated lanes would actually make it safer for everyone including the drivers.
