I am advocating for my daughters who for one example would never use the public pool again if men had access to the girls locker room.

“Transgender ideology” is producing “large-scale child abuse,” asserts Dr. Michelle Cretella, a pediatrician and President of the American College of Pediatricians.
“Transgender ideology … is intruding into the lives of the most innocent among us — children — and with the apparent growing support of the professional medical community," writes Cretella at The Daily Signal.
Sex is hardwired from before birth, and it cannot change, and that’s why we actually called this child abuse. By feeding children and families these lies (about gender fluidity and the safety of “transition-affirming protocols”), children are having their normal psychological development interrupted, they’re being put on the puberty blockers which essentially castrates them chemically, followed by surgical mutilation later on. This is child abuse. This is not health care.
Solve the problem of bullying. Do not circumvent this by creating a different problem. Address the cause of the problem, not the symptom.

My son goes to Williamston Schools. With that being said, I've had to discuss this policy with him and what ramifications could happen. His first and immediate response was, "I will not feel comfortable in the locker room or bathroom if there's a girl in there. Even if they feel like a boy. I don't want to change or go to the bathroom in front of a girl. Right now it's all boys and we have the same body parts so it doesn't matter.....I guess I'll just have to change or go to the bathroom in a stall." It saddened me that my middle school child will possibly be uncomfortable in a place that he normally felt comfortable. It angers me that hundreds more kids in the school will feel the same way to make a single child feel more comfortable. If this policy must be passed then I think a lot if changes to it should be made first to accommodate all the children in the community and not just to those who don't "conform".

When 80% of kids who "identify" as the opposite gender of their biology eventually come to accept and identify as their biological gender, it seems to me that this is not a permanent condition for most of them, nor determined by biology, and that indulging it by having them in the opposite gender bathroom (according to their biology) just prolongs and confused the issue for 80% of the kids who will later identify as their bio gender. In other words, for most kids, it's doing them a lot of psychological harm. Not to mention the other kids who have to have them in their locker room and restroom.

NO! I do not want this policy in our school system. Not just in Williamston school district, but all school districts across the United States of America.

The problem we face didn't start recently and in my opinion is just a reflection of a much bigger problem. The problem started shortly after we took God out of our schools as we began throwing biblical principles out the window as well.
The Bible tells us that "a youngster's heart is filled with foolishness, but physical discipline will drive it far away". It also says "the rod and rebuke give wisdom, but a child left to himself brings shame".
Well let me tell you... by in large our children have been left to fend for themselves… television, gaming, social media, cell phones, and all the world has to offer does not and never will replace the role of a loving father and mother. The bullying which is the real issue at play here starts in the broken home - believe me I know!
The Message Bible put's it this way "don't be afraid to correct your young ones; a spanking won't kill them. A good spanking, in fact, might save them from something worse than death"
Today the parents are told they can't spank their children so for the most part they don't based on "mans opinion" leaving God out and totally disregarding His word. With that our kids are getting more and more out of control by each passing year. Disorders of ALL kind are skyrocketing, bullying is becoming more prevalent not less (even with prevention policies in place), substance abuse has increased and disrespect in our homes is ever increasing because we have failed to heed the written warnings.
If we allow our young people to think God made a huge mistake when creating them and take it upon themselves to fix His error... then where do we draw the line?
Sooner or later they'll be able to claim to be a horse in a female body that used to be male. Seriously, once we remove morality, who are we to then challenge anyone's thought pattern whatsoever without violating their rights?
The world is already driving us to the cliff. Please don't help take us over it quicker!!

If we wrongfully allow our young people to make a decision that openly states they believe God made a huge mistake when creating them... then where do we draw the line? Sooner or later they'll be able to claim to be a horse in a female body that used to be a male. Once we remove morality, who are we to challenge anyone's thought pattern by telling them they are wrong without violating their rights?

Publicly funded schools should be subordinate to the parents who help fund them by sending their children. Furthermore, any publicly funded institution should held to higher standards of transparency than what has been displayed in Williamston.

Rightly put. Transgender children do in fact need policies regarding rights but the current policy being considered has many holes and in my opinion, easily exploited loopholes.

Although I stand completely opposed to this proposal, I must comment that I find the wording and extent of this petition to go beyond my personal position. I cannot, in good conscious, agree with the inserted comments regarding our school board members. Elected officials that really are in positions of service to our community, I give them credit for what they do - so much very positive - and I do not envy the position they are in many times and the pressure they face because of it. It would be way beyond my scope of understanding to sign in agreement to wording that is personal and even threatening. I choose to stand against the transgender proposal as it has been presented and stick to that issue only.

I hope we can come up with an option that leaves all of our children (LGBTQ and otherwise) feeling safe and loved. Further discussion needs to take place before a decision is made.

This is ridiculous that you don't see that the real issue lies with a policy you already have in place. Now if you would enforce the NO BULLYING policy!!!!
