Condos is better than transient lodging coupled with the auto service result. By my count that's 3 Marriott properties in 8 blocks.

I am a Fifeville resident and UVa family member. This project is irresponsible because it is not environmentally and community sustainable. It reduces value from our neighborhood, the City of Charlottesville and the environment which has contributed to this City's unique values and lifestyle. This is simply a milking scheme: Charlottesville does not need any more of this, the benefits of the supposed taxation revenue are out weighed by the numerous negative externalities of this type of cheap development. The economics are poor and short term.

I propose a suspension of all building in Charlottesville that is not for the purpose of affordable housing.
This hotel will be a blight to the community. Who's interest does this serve? Certainly not the citizens of Cville!

Wrong location. Doesn't fit this neighborhood at all.

Traffic is already quite congested here, especially during rush hour. It seems to me that Charlottesville already has more than enough lodging for visitors to our town.

A hotel on this site is a poor use of the space. The developer needs to go back to the drawing board and come up with a plan for the site that addresses the needs and concerns of residents in the immediate neighborhood.

I adamently do not support the building of any hotel iat the Ridge St/Cherry Ave intersection or in any other Charlottesville neighborhood. In my opinion City Council should respect and honor the Planning Commission's decision to vote NO on this project.

A hotel is not a suitable use for this neighborhood, and the intent of the original proposal has not been maintained.

A hotel at this location would be a mistake in my view. Ask yourselves what brings people here to stay in a hotel. It is the unique character of this city-it's history, university, arts, food--to connect with local creatives all around from architects to writers to painters to musicians, and with fellow students who have memories of this beautiful place. Why then would you wound such a potential historical, creative, community asset as Fifeville by putting a hotel there? I am for development, but any more hotels should be outside the historical districts, which you already know. Time to talk to the county on this one--south of 64 on 5th would be a much better call, or part of the Wegman's plan.

It's clear that the city of Charlottesville and it's council are attempting to push the black out of the city by any means. Enough is enough and we must stand up and fight or be forced to leave our home's and neighborhood's

Hotels contribute nothing to the street life. W. Main Street is now a brick canyon with nothing going on--a true missed opportunity.

This is a ridiculous site for a hotel! This is an historic street/area and development should be carefully considered and executed. The part fronting Ridge St should be left as is, or should be carefully crafted residential, as is most of the street. The part that fronts Cherry Ave should provide development useful to the neighborhood, a drug store, bank, decent grocery, if it really has to be developed at all.

No hotel.
Let's finish the Halsey Minor "skeleton" on the downtown mall instead and leave the William Taylor property as is. Enough greed, City of Charlottesville!

I favor green zones that will enhance our quality of life. More trolleys, LESS traffic. More affordable living, less ugly concrete structures that hide the sun!
