Tell the Lexington Herald Leader to say no to Larry Webster. The column "Can boys still be boys when yes means yes," was over the top... too much... crossed the line.

Men can control their urges and women do not have to live in a constant state of "readiness." His column "Can boys still be boys when yes means yes," is insulting to both genders and upsetting.

I demand an apology from Larry Webster and the Lexington Herald Leader.

Seeing this groundswell of support is deeply validating because I know exactly how much damage those words did to our community. It is clear that we refuse to accept the dangerous narrative presented in that column. We are moving forward with this pressure to ensure that our perspective is acknowledged.

Herald-Leader, please review your journalism training. Every biewpoint is not, in fact, equally worthy of dissemination and it's the role of journalists to make that determination.

I'm not so shocked knowing the source this is coming from. That may sound rude of me, but some people in that area still have the "good ol' boy" way of thinking. And it is very apparent when speaking on the topics of sex, politics and race. And although Mr. Webster is an Attorney, he was the only one who was always so disrespectful that he wouldn't dress in court attire on Fridays. So I wouldn't expect his thinking on the topic of the way man treats a woman to be any different.

The women of this Commonwealth deserve an apology as well as the men who love them.

Since this website will not let me sign the petition, I'll just comment. I have been on the internet for many years now through what feels like an endless parade of terrible articles. This article was the worst in that long parade. This is the worst thing I have ever read. 0/10, would not read again.

this article is disgusting and promotes rape culture. It needs to be removed and an apology issues immediately.

The publication of this article by the Herald Leader is slap in the face to journalistic integrity.

This is ridiculous. I found this unprofessional of this prestigious paper to post and I feel that this is not reflective of our community.

The publication of this article has made me lose a lot of respect for the Herald Leader.
