Widen the narrow pavement on Burlington Road, New Malden

Not only does the pavement need widening at this point, but the drivers illegally entering Tesco car park here are also causing major problems and this needs to be addressed. With cars flying past the pavement to try and shoot into Tesco using an exit only road, it is surely only a matter of time before somebody gets hurt here.

A serious hazard. Could be solved by using some of the overgrown ground adjacent to the path.

Widen the pavement and take care of the children.

As an ex-resident of Raynes Park and mum from Sacred Heart school I have suffered this as well, ending up using the car to avoid puting my children in danger. I totally endorsed this petition.

When work was done to turn prevent traffic turning right onto West Barnes Lane having crossed the lev el crossing, the barriers on that stretch of footway were removed. At the time, parents said this could lead to an accident as the footway was narrow. I share pedestrians' concerns.

Please consider the safety of pedestrians on this already busy road. If the pavements were safer perhaps more families would walk to school, this easing traffic.

INCIDENT, not accident? Councils and Councillors are responsible for preventing incidents.

In an area with heavy family footfall having adequate protections for padestrians is vital!

Encourage children to walk to school but they must be able to do it safely

My son goes to Sacred Heart School and this is a very busy stretch of road during the school run every day!

This pavement needs to be widened before there is a serious accident.

It's dangerous, especially in the mornings and late afternoon when rush hour traffic is further compunded by the level crossing.
