It only takes one accident/ mistake. Fast vehicles, narrow pavement. A terrible recipe.

I am very concerned about the dangers to young children on this pavement - especially as my own nieces and nephews take this route daily.

Safety of pedestrians of all ages, but particular children and elderly, needs to be priority. Merton Council, please act!

My child walks this way to school and i am incredibly concerned about this crossing as it is such a small space for everyone to squeeze onto.

We use this pavement every day and the proposal to widen it is an excellent one. It's a matter of time before someone is killed as there is not enough room to walk anything wider than single file. Perhaps the Council could also do something about the cars that are still illegally entering Tesco at that spot.

I use this footpath everyday with my two children, and so would be very happy to see it made wider and safer.

This can't happen soon enough. The children face enough dangers walking along that stretch between Tesco and school, including vehicles cutting across the pavement to access the different shops/offices, so I fully support anything that can be done to improve safety.

It is very inconvenient to use the footpath near Tesco on Burlington road with buggies and small children.

This pavement is far too narrow on such a busy road.

I fully support this petition. This particular stretch of pavement is in frequent use by people with pushchairs and is only wide enough to allow the width of two people without stepping into the road.
