Pricing disabled users who need more space off the canals

Unfair charges aimed at widebeams which seems like an agenda to price us off the waterways. CRT should reconsider this seriously!

This licence increase appears to be discrimination against wide beam boats which are a minority of the boat owners.

Cost increases of this magnitude are unsustainable for commercial barges in the north of the country. I understand the problem of barges being hired long term clogging up the southern waterways but regulation for renters will solve this not pricing.

Totally unfair to single out a minority & an unfair consultation. A small increase for everyone would create more revenue than pricing the few out of the water. Many of which are historic vessels

A minority has been singled out to please the majority. The consultation is both flawed & unfair. A small increase for everyone would raise far more revenue

My “widebeam” cruiser actually displaces less water than a 50ft narrow boat, and I am restricted to which rivers I can navigate.. Why should I have to pay more

We have just purchased a cruiser which will just fall into the wide bracket
I think it’s so wrong to charge extra as we don’t use any more of the waterways than any other craft !

It’s about time CRT worked on a weekend and fined the boats who don’t pay a licence who come out of marina’s. CRT should also give us a refund on our licence every time the bridges can’t swing due to maintenance issues and the time we have to spend planning and making phone calls to make sure we have a safe journey. We have a right of passage it’s about time we were allowed to do this and enjoy the waterways that we can access.

As proud owners of a wide beam Tjalk...We are limited to access of the waterways. We do not add anymore wear and tear to locks, bridges or service points, we use less bank space than many long boats...can anyone give me 1 good reason for this new price hike imposed on so many?
Am i missing the point.. Is it that my family home displaces more water than a narrow gauge boat of the same length!... Surely thats more water to be used for the next boat!.. One more tax on a lovely vibrant community....

Pay more to get less than a narrowminger , Number of times we've ran out of water on the trent and tried to Moor at Torksey to find a couple of 70ft narrow boats taking all the space

We've just moved onto our widebeam and made the decision to get one based on where we can go and what we pay. Now they are moving the goal posts. And flawed consultation is a waste of time.
