PLEASE support Whistler International Campus (WIC) and its goal to bring an international post-secondary and executive learning institution to Whistler. Your support will let RMOW Council know that you support WIC's vision to become a reality for the benefit of the Whistler community.
WIC is privately funded so there will be NO burden on the taxpayer.
Embracing an innovative approach to education, Whistler International Campus will offer both local and international students the opportunity to earn university degrees, take vocational courses or participate in professional development in a spectacular setting.
WIC will strengthen and diversify Whistler's economy by creating jobs, attracting new residents, bringing international students and executive level learners to the community and providing a year-round, sustainable industry with more than 400 new jobs.
The economic benefits start with construction - a $270 million investment over 10 years. Once the campus is built, Whistler's economic gain from WIC will be between $30 and $40 million per year.

I just checked and saw we hit a hundred signatures which is honestly way faster than I imagined when I started typing this up at my kitchen table. It feels pretty surreal to see so many people actually getting behind the idea of having a real campus here even if my coffee has gone cold while I stare at the screen.

It is my dream to move to whistler with my brother and attend a close school. It would be much better than driving awhile there and back.

Education is the cornerstone of every successful community. The right University would develop, evolve and strengthen Whistler's community for the future generation of Whistler-ites

Whistler is an incredible place that would grow really positevely if they finally open a post-secondary learning institution. It would only bring jobs and prosperity.

I'm generally against builiding more housing in Whistler, but this seems like a good choice for the community.

Whistler will continue to grow no matter what. Without diversification, it will shift into being a suburb to the lower mainland. We chose to live here because of the incredible quality of life, but our primary source of income comes from the lower mainland. This is our bedroom community, but we would love to someday have opportunities to work locally.
WIC is a step in the right direction for Whistler's future.
