Being an multi sport athlete myself, I have grown to thrive off of the energy give by a crowd. Nothing motivates an athlete like his/her community/student section organizing chants to create a high energy atmosphere at these events. At the same time I also thrive off of the opposing fans trying to distract us from our game. The atmosphere is what makes high school sports so special. By implementing these rules not only are you ruining the experience for students and fans, but also lessening the memories and experience from players as well. I am signing this petition because I believe experience of athletics will be changed in a very negative manor with these rules.

I don't get how it could offend someone and how it could make someone feel bad about losing. How does air ball and other stuff offend other players. It ruins the fun of the game, not that the game is not fun to watch but you know what I mean. Why just Wisconsin schools. That's one thing I really don't understand

Although I believe action should be taken against any student using profanity, racism, or discrimination intended to do harm I believe that part of any sports event is the crowd participation and silencing the crowd would not serve a real purpose.

It's not gonna be any fun for students to go to a game and sit there quietly. Plus is also doesn't help the positivity towards their own team and keep the players pumped up during the game!

I think it's ridiculous that the WIAA would try and restrict our constitutional rights. Remove this rule
Freedom of speech. This should not be an issue.
