Being a high school athlete, this completely changes the pace of the game , not only for the crowd, but for the players as well. Chants directed toward your team from the opposing team is something that fuels a player to play harder and have more of an edge of competiton in them. The ban on these chants will not only hurt crowd involvement in the games, it will also hurt the amount of intensity that some players use to play at a competitive level.

Cheering and friendly banter is part of the game. It never bothered me as the athlete on the field/court. This is what's wrong with today's society, they are trying to clearly stop your freedom of speech.

Not well thought through if you get offended by the opposing student section cheering that's not our fault it's part of the sport, sheltering kids from harmless chants is ridiculous. Wait til they get into the real world won't have anyone to hold their hand and to run to everytime someone hurts their feelings.
