This is the fun of sports, if a student athlete cannot handle that and are looking to play at the collegiate level, good luck with that. They get ripped on all the time. No one is trying to be mean, it's all about fun and the fun brings in more money for the WIAA. Now the WIAA will lose money cause students won't wanna go.

Oviously any sort of hatred whether it be racist or offensive sexually is not acceptable. However the chants that were banned are in no way a form of hatred toward another player or fan alike. As a athlete and fan I have noticed a decline in student section participation in my four yeats, which I guess is why I started the petition because these rules would only hurt attendance and participation further.

Some things are very disrespectful such as racist comments towards an opposing team or player but the list that the WIAA released gives no solution to any problem. The student sections are just pointing out simple facts. As a former three sport athlete those student sections would motivate me more if they chanted that at me.

This is ridiculous, it obviously makes sense to prohibit anything offensive like racial, sexual, or any sort of hatred, but chanting common things like "airball" and yelling during free throws are not offensive. Let us support our friends and get them amped up .. You can't so that by just sitting and clapping
