I have friends who are WI members, some of whom have had to leave when men started joining.

The WI constitution should NOT be changed without consulting the membership and responding to the views of the members.

After considerable progress from the 1960s on in equality it seems to me we have gone backwards. Women are being undermined from a variety of sources , biology is but one . Equality has been eroded and diluted and culturally it seems acceptable now to demean women .

I do not believe that anyone can change sex. I stand with Kellie Jay Keane on this. I am a real women survivor of CSA & DV. CSA survivors have only recently been better supported following IICSA but it seems that predators are easily able to target woman only spaces for nefarious reasons. I am disturbed at the valuable people who've been cancelled or lost jobs or been silenced by Stonewall's 'no debate' policy, the lies spun by Mermaids & that both are prominently displayed as helplines on many websites set up for victims. I had body dysphoria & was very vulnerable when a young runaway & later seeking help and am sure that I could have been made to think I was in the wrong body, if Trans had been a thing 50yrs ago.

We should discuss this in relation to the aims of the WI and then have a vote on how our aims should best be served.

Members should have been allowed to vote on this issue and should not have it forced upon them without any consultation - we pay to belong to the WI!

WI cannot effectively advocate for women’s issues if the membership is mixed sex.
