A Vote on Trans Women Joining Women's Institutes

I stopped going to my local group because of this issue.

I went to an introduction meeting for my village WI and thought it was fantastic. Then I looked at the instagram feed and the EDI policy and realised WI, ironically, was for men too. I haven’t been back. I would love to join if WI exercised its legitimate & proportionate right to be single sex.

Trans women are men.

Woman is an adult human female.

Women's spaces and organisations should be women only. Men larping as women should never be welcomed.

I was about to go to my very first meeting but discovered the policy on makes joining the WI and decided against going after all

I wanted to join the village WI, but it appears to accept men now. I want safe spaces for women, that means adult human females. I will not be dragged into men's delusions and/or fetishes.

I am a biological women and I believe that only adult human females should join.

Trans women are NOT women.

I am dismayed at the WI stance on this. We have few enough spaces just for women and i don’t see why we should enable males to join or collude in their delusions that they are women. They are not.

I was a member for 11yr but left when WI started accepting men who dress as women. Shame on them.

I have been considering joining the WI - that decision will be made based solely on the WI being a single sex space for adult human females ONLY.

Your policy is nonsensical since most women don't "identify as" women. It's men who do that. The WI is no longer fit for purpose.

As a protector of women's rights, I feel that men have no place in women's spaces, jobs, sports or any area of life that's only for women. Tolerance has went too far and now we're being eradicated. It's The WOMANS Institute. Not Yhe Men And Womans Institute.

I would love to join but cannot support an organisation for women, that includes men!

If the WI includes males it can no longer be the WI. It will no longer be fit for purpose.

The WI previously fought to protect women’s rights but now they’re giving them away to men who claim to be women. Yet another example of how men are invading women’s spaces and services and in some cases putting women at risk, pressuring women or taking away opportunities for women. Biological sex, I.e xx and xy chromosomes can not be changed, and many trans women either do not undergo a full transition or swap between presenting as a man and as a woman, such as Eddie Izard . Why is the WI pandering to less than 1% of the population when 50% of the population are real women. It is not transphobic to provide a single sex service as sex is a protected characteristic in law.

A trans woman is a man. The Woman’s Institute is for women. It’s that simple.

Let them start the “TransWomens” institute if they’re that concerned, but we know that they won’t- they’re just doing it for the validation, to know that they can force women into pretending that they’re women even though everyone in the world with eyes and two brain cells to rub together knows that no man will EVER be a woman. Shame on the WI for enabling this lie and betraying women. Do better.
