A Vote on Trans Women Joining Women's Institutes

I don't agree that any biological males should be in the WI. I will not be joining or supporting WI because of this. I am signing in support of stopping more males entering and reviewing the policies. If you are permitting males to join then it should not be entitled women's institute as this is false advertising, it's misleading and the average person would assume it's female only. If you want it mixed rename it as Institute or Mixed Institute. Furthermore, it is my view that allowing trans women (biological males) but excluding men breaches the equalities act as it is prejudicial against biological men identifying as men because of their gender. The equalities act protects exclusion for single sex spaces, but with biological males as members it is no longer a single sex space, so you are excluding men who dress as men. A womens organisation should be a safe space for females. On a personal note I first became aware of the trans debate as I was on a feminist page online and I was told I'm a disgusting TERF (I had to Google that) and I'd make a good bullet cushion!!! because I referred to myself as female and said that I wouldnt personally date a man who'd been born a woman...up until that point I'd believed I was allowed to have a preference. I wasn't. There was a pile on of pure hate which confused the hell out of me. My accounts were also hacked. All from one innocent (and true) commemt. The more I learn about the demands from the trans community the more frightened I am. Everyone deserves a safe space, but if you wouldn't allow a man I'm your space don't allow a biological males as trans women commit sexual and violent crime (against women) at the same rate as men.

I have been toying with joining up. Not likely if this ridiculous policy is in place.

Former member of the WI - and I won’t even consider rejoining until this policy is rescinded.

The WI is one of the only spaces women can come together. Please do not diminish this wonderful organisation by bringing men in.

Biological women deserve our own space, exclusive of biological males

Men can’t become women.

Men who claim they are women should not be allowed in the women’s institute.

The WI was set up for women - let's keep it that way

I think it’s essential women’s groups are only for women.

Women aren’t allowed to have male free spaces anymore, this has to stop.

I would love to become a member but not while they have this policy. It's degrading to women.

The radical element of the Trans cause are turning the World against the whole Trans issue by demanding something that’s never going to happen

Women’s Institute - it’s in the name. Men should not be allowed, no matter how they ‘identify’.

Transwomen should never have been allowed to join the WI - the WI is a single-sex organization, not a 'gender-fluid' organization. Lets stick to reality and allow women to keep what they fought for - single-sex spaces and groups! If the WI goes back to single-sex groups, I will join.

Women have the right to spaces that only contain our sex. There are many institutions when both men and women attend. The Women’s Institute should not be one of those.

This should be a member vote not imposed on women.

WI means Women's Institute. To me that is biological women.

Enough of men deciding they want to invade women's spaces !

The trans/gender issue is going too far. Leave women alone to enjoy our spaces!
