Around a third of women, at some point in their life have been subject to male violence and / or sexual abuse - single sex spaces are safe spaces, and survivors need those social connections badly. No thought has gone into the impact on survivors of allowing males into the Institute.

We invited Herts Chair to our meeting this month to explain accountability and supposed democracy of WI. She basically said 'they have lawyers and advisors and tell us what to do' She had rung Melissa Green before deciding not to distribute your letter to Institutes. Try sending it to Secretaries?

I am not happy with the WIs transgender policy we weren’t consulted and women have spent years achieving what we have. Last year I went on the Million Women’s Rise March because my ex husband continued to abuse me for 22 years after we divorced are we going to have to stop this sort of campaign?

The WI has no right to say genetically born females who live as a Women, are the same as those born genetically male who live as females. Its biologically impossible for a woman to be a Trans woman or a Trans Woman to be a woman! I have no problem with Trans women, as long as they accept me as a women, different from them.

The WI is a member led organisation, and so members should be consulted about major constitutional changes, especially where it could fundamentally alter the nature of the organisation.
