I left my local WI when a man joined. It altered the dynamics of the group and will destroy it if this policy is allowed to continue.

Men are not women. Humans cannot change sex. Only holders of a Gender Recognition Certificate are protected under EQA2010. A trans identified man who chooses to self id as a woman is actually just a man in dress. His transvestism does not change his sex. Well done for campaigning to eradicate this bad policy which taints the Woman’s Institute’s basic tenets. Good luck.

The Women’s Institute has supported, educated and campaigned on behalf of women for over 100 years. Including trans identifying men within that membership without consulting your members is high handed and unconstitutional.

There are already numerous organisations dedicated to identities whereas those who should be dedicated to females are dwindling daily. Sex is a protected characteristic and it matters enough to have organisations who focus solely on that. Women matter.
