I am obviously in the minority here, but this kind of archaic, outdated thinking is exactly why I have not renewed my membership of the WI. I cannot believe that in this day and age and the taking into account the amount of effort it has taken to move us towards equality that the WI continues with the premise that only women (born female) can be part of the WI. Please consider the future and how the younger generations are going to view this organisation. You have the opportunity to be forward thinking and make a real difference in so many lives.

This could lead to all sorts of problems, the WI was set up for woman to have a space of their own. Each WI should have a vote on whether to accept trans women or not.

WI should be proud to be a women’s only organisation. Including males effectively males it a mixed sex organisation and it therefore cannot represent women. It’s a disgrace.

It is vital now more than ever that women retain control of single sex groups where they can meet and share safety with their own sexed group in a society that is still largely patriarchal

Completely endorse principle of Women's Institute as female-only organisation, permitted undee existing legislation. Maybe supporting language even for this petition needs sharpening up, given appropriation of the term "women" by trans-identified maled.

I’m really disappointed that a women’s organisation has started to allow men to enter its groups. Men who identify as women are still men, women’s boundaries and spaces are being continually eroded.

I'm appalled at the underhand way this NFWI has gone about insinuating MEN into a women's organisation without so much as a by-your-leave or giving WOMEN, you know... those MEMBERS, a chance to say 'No, this is a WOMEN's space'. The 'You'll do as we say' attitude is just typical of supporters of trans policy pushing their ideology & MEN into women's spaces as tho they've a right to do so without consultation with members. They don't. Time the Board of Trustees accepted it is NOT for them to decide policy at THEIR whim without discussion with those who make the WI work.
