A Vote on Trans Women Joining Women's Institutes

Stop pandering to the vocal minority- a woman is an adult human female

We are called THE WOMENS INSTITUTE for a reason.

Self ID is open to massive abuse and shouldn't be tolerated. Women are entitled to PROTECTED Womens only places

Coincidentally, yesterday I saw a poster for the local branch and wondered whether to join. I agree with the principles but, sadly, not this.

WI is for Adult Human Females - not biological males

Women should mean biological women

I would never join the WI while men are allowed to join. Men can wear whatever clothes or makeup they like and call themselves whatever they like, but they are still men, born and brought up men in a patriarchal society in which they have had power and privilege. Your CEO has been quoted in The Guardian as saying that you would not stifle debate but this is exactly what you’re doing. The WI Board is pedalling an ideology that denies the existence of biological sex and denies the lived experience of women & girls.

I would like to see a debate on this issue to include all members

Can women have nothing for us as women?

I have been a member pre lockdown. But during lockdown found out it was not a women's organisation

If the purpose of the Women's Institute is to advance the education of women and girls, should that not include the fact that the only person who can become a trans woman is a man. By allowing men to join the Women's Institute, you are changing the first objective of the association.

Membership of the WI should be sex based, ie for biological women only. The current policy of allowing men who identify as women to join means that I will not join, even though I would like to. The current policy is a gross betrayal of women and our right to our own safe spaces away from biological males. It needs to changed.

Stop insulting your members at best.

Why call it a Women's Institute if men can join?
