Women have the right to their own organisations without the presence of men. Transwomen are men.

Women’s institute is for women. Transgender women are by definition male and therefore men.

My grandmother was a member of the women's institute in droitwich for many years, she went weekly and always spoke lovingly about what they did in the local community and of fhe many friends she had come to know and these friends stayed with her throughout her final years, but to say a man who simply states he's a woman can join the womens institute is just a mad and stupid thing to support check the name of the organisation that should tell you all you need to know, women = adult human female.

Men (those born male will always remain male) have no place in a women‘s organisation designed around the physical, social, psychological and emotional needs of women. Our lives and especially biological experiences are totally different from those of men. I’m particularly concerned about how the WI would protect women’s intimate spaces at venues from the presence of trans-indentifying men eg toilets. Under the Equality Act, the WI could easily apply the exclusion clause but could you be trusted to do it?

Women have the right to their own organisations. This is not controversial. Please never pipe down, ladies of the WI.

I am not currently a WI member, but my local branch is very active and I have considered joining. If the WI continues to embrace the idea that anyone can self-ID as a woman, it would put me off getting involved - if I'm joining a mixed sex community group, I'd prefer one that is honest about it.

I do not believe that Shanu Varmu who is a trans activists should be eligible for membership of the WI. He is filled with hateful speech against women. The WI policy to allow trans women into your organisation will not help women to feel safe in their endeavours. Have you changed your Mem &Arts to allow all men into your organisation?
