The WI should not allow men who say they feel like women to become members and WI members have *nothing* to learn about being a woman from such men. Stop insulting women.

No way would I join a 'women's institute' when biological men are also allowed to join. You need to change your name to 'Anyone's Institute'.

I am considering resigning from the WI over this, but will stay for one year so that there is an opportunity to discuss it within the organisation first.

Sex matters. I am extremely troubled by trans ideology & the dangers posed to women & girls. As a survivor of CSA - I'm shocked at the charities/services meant to be safe that are including 'transwomen' ie MEN into spaces & displacing language that even can affect court proceedings if a perp demands to be called 'SHE'!

I am busy working at the moment, but once I retire I can 100% tell you I don't join organisations which focus on gender ideology. By allowing these men women will automatically be scared to have a voice on women's issues.
The reason I speak so strongly against this is my own adult son claims trans. It's a lie he get's off as seeing himself as a woman AGP. He also has body issues on his height and depression. He bullied me into calling him a woman. I refused as I believe women have the right to be able to talk about themselves in their own sex class. Our language matters.

It is essential that women are free to organise and associate as women. There are no “new women”. Female impersonators are not women. No man can become a woman, whether by abuse of medication, elective genital mutilation, dressing up to look cosmetically a bit like a woman or act of will. No woman should be expected to accept falsehoods about women’s biology, or to accept that a man who thinks he is a woman is just as much a woman as their mother or grandmother.
