A Vote on Trans Women Joining Women's Institutes

I would like to join the WI but feel unable to whilst you insist on allowing men in womanface to be part of your organisation. Why are you pandering go this small percentage of men over actual WOMEN? Your predecessors must be turning in their graves.

It's in the name "womens" institute, not one single woman of the billions born on earth has ever had a penis

In light of the Supreme Court decision that clearly asserts that biology defines us and that is the law. Moreover this has been the law for some time. The EHRC has also asserted the truth that biological reality is how to define a woman - not a feeling. I feel let down by the WI who does not stand for women any more but instead embraces an ideology that actually makes things worse for actual women and girls.

I want to join, but will not join while men are allowed.

Not with MEN!

It's in the name !! Men who think or wish to be women are not, and never can be. The law has clarified this. No men !!

Keep the WI single sex! Women have a right to single sex spaces and associations .

Ex-WI member due to the inclusion of men. Some very disturbing & uncomfortable sessions on women's intimate matters. The fella was aroused and nobody felt able to call him out. I wish I had. Shameful.

No to trans women joining

Save women’s single sex spaces.

The meaning of the law has been clarified and there is now no excuse for ignoring and/or breaking it.

How can it possibly be called the Women’s Institute if some men are allowed to,join, either it is for women or it’s the People’s Institute

I am retired. I am a woman. I had always intended to join my local WI when I retired and had more free time. By the time I retired, the WI were letting men who pretend to be women join. My husband cannot join because he is a man and admits that he is a man. Men who pretend to be women are treated differently from other men. This is discrimination. I cannot be part of a mixed sex group which pretends to be for women only. You are losing women and excluding women in order to include some men. How dare you sacrifice what our foremothers fought for.

I am nearing retirement age and would be interested in joining the WI as long as it was women only, and that’s biological women, not men.

Maybe it should be be more hard-line. No men at all. I've never liked the idea of wi for myself. Men in there would make it a definite NO.

I refuse to join the WI whilst you continue to break the law and let men, regardless of how they identity into the WI. You’re opening yourself up to being sued under the Equality Act and it’s the right and moral thing to keep the WI for women only

I have wanted to join the WI for years but since I found out they accept men I can’t. I want a space free from males, as stated in law. By accepting trans women ( i.e men) the WI isn’t providing that.

The WI is here on the side of manipulative, abusive, men. It is not possible to change one’s sex and the Supreme Court ruling has made it clear that women have a right to single sex spaces and organisations.

The clue is in the name. Men are not and never can be women.

Men calling themselves “trans women” are in fact men and as such have no viable place in the Women’s Institute - current such members included - the clue is in the name. Either change the rules or change the name to represent the membership.
