I think one of the problems is that during the weekends and school holidays at night, there are teenagers entering the school grounds, drinking and so forth. Could the school turn of the lights under the cola? This will save power as well . I would hate to see the school fenced off, so many in the community benefit from it.

I would like to know what is really behind this idea. If the real concern is vandalism, let the informal neighbourhood watch continue. If it is something else, let's teach the children protective strategies, there won't always be a fence to keep them safe everywhere they go!

I grew up behind this school and loved playing down there with friends after hrs, I live in Melbourne now but visit regularly with my 2 girls and would like them to be able to play and ride their bikes down there. Copa does not need a fenced in school!!!

My kids do not go to Copa anymore but regularly go and lay with friends and their dads kicking as all around. There is not enough opportunity for kids to play with parents don't give them less . The kids are fiercely protective of the school it's part of who they are they would never hurt it or watch someone hurt it .

The money could be put to much better use, for example a covered walkway to the demountable. If these people want a fenced school, they should move to Sydney.

How is it that minorities have more power than the majority. Don't we live in a democratic society? If there is genuine concern we all should have a say and not have decisions made for all.

Keep the kids off the lounge and allow them access to the grounds. The large grass areas promote outdoor recreation and socializing. As children we all enjoyed playing there and I know my son has too.

No offense intended, but I think it is somewhat naive to think that if the school has the means to secure the property they won't do so. The back gate is now locked every weekend restricting access for the community. If the new fence can be locked, then I think we have to presume that it will be locked whenever possible, ie after school, evenings and on the weekend.
I know that's not your intention, but that is the likely outcome, community access will be stopped.

Is this meeting on 11 March during the day? If so, why don't you change it to after work hours so that more people can attend. And advertise that this topic will be discussed so that people are aware.
