No matter what we will be sleep deprived. If we end school later we will just have to stay up even later to do the copious amounts of homework we are assigned.

I work some school days and for the school to push the hours back it's ruining my personal schedule as well. Just keep the hours the same wayzata

The school board should have definitely asked some of the students what their views were on this before making a decision that will have a big impact on our lives.

The start time shouldn't change. The school board thinks this will give high school students more time to sleep but in reality it won't change anything. Students will get out of school later, finish practices/extra curricular activities later, start homework later, and in result go to bed later. This start time change will just cause problems when the start times already in place have no issues.

This is stupid on having school start eariler. It's not going to help students that have after school activities. It's best kf we keep our time the same so then we have more of a afternoon to do homework.

So if your gonna change the start times then what are gonna people do about their extra curricular activities there will just be no time at all if we push the start time forward

I am a middleschooler in sixth grade at east and do not want school to start earlier. I want the times to stay the same because I don't want to get home later.

Shame on the Wayzata School Board for not conducting the proper research into this matter and basing their proposed plans on sound research, and thinking they could just pass this without any oposition, commenting and insinuating that the district community could be pushed into accepting this. A serious need for much stronger collaboration between the district and all of the district included cities planning commissions needs to take place about the future growth of our community and district. Sadly, this should have occurred years ago, and now we are faced with less than ideal solutions and a district board desperate to improperly fix a situation they chose to be blind to for too many years. Shame on you for putting the health and well being of our students at risk for budgetary reasons. You should all be forced to resign your positions, as you've lost sight of your mission.
