Students participating in extracurricular activities year round will not get home until much later at night. No matter how many studies you do on what you think the students will want and benefit from, you won't know without asking us. This is not the answer to stopping kids from falling asleep in class it will only make it worse. Later starts will only cause more problems with other elementary and middle schools especially for those parents with a child at each school. Keep the start time the same to keep the students happy.

If the start times change I'm switching schools. This is how it's always been and students have always been able to succeed with the current start times. Don't change them!!!!!

I 100% agree that the times should stay the same. As someone who is involved in many activities, it is very hard for me, starting school at 8:20, to be able to go to all my activities and get my homework done. I am in eighth grade and I know for a fact that when I am in high school next year and I'm going to have more homework and more activities the last thing I need is less time in order to complete that.

it doesn't make sense, kids will have to stay up later and therefore will not get more sleep. It also screws up all the sports and after school activities.

Keep the start times as they are. Not that many people are complaing about them anyways, if we change them then people will complain about them because it will cause students to be late to sports after school and most likely getting less sleep. Its not worth it.

The new start time is a horrible idea. The hope is to get more sleep, but if school ends later than activities will end later. (Or we will have less time to do homework before activities not affiliated with the school). That means that we will have to stay up later doing homework. We will also know that we don't have to wake up as early, so we will stay up later. It will just cause us to stay up later than we do already.
