Aldi confirmed today that a new location is officially slated for development in Chester. We are moving into the site assessment phase now and will monitor the construction timeline to ensure this remains a priority.

The expansion, over the next five years, puts the German grocer on track to becoming the third-largest food retailer in the U.S. by store count, behind the larger Wal-Mart Stores Inc. and Kroger Co., and a growing threat to traditional food retailers.

The growth of this initiative has reached a point where it is now a viable document to present to local commercial development boards. I am currently coordinating a meeting with city planners to review the potential site locations for a new store.

We definitely need an affordable option, I'd come from Perryville Missouri to shop there
Would be wonderful to have a good store with reasonable prices in Chester, we have very little choice of where to shop here. Also would help raise employment, something we really need.
My fiancé owns a farm in Chester and I am moving to Chester in the next few months and we would love to have an Aldi's there! Please do come! Aldi's has wonderful groceries and great prices.
It's a 20 minute drive to the nearest Aldi for my family. We still spend about 60% of our grocery budget at the one in Sparta. If there was one in Chester my family would spend nearly 100% of our grocery budget there.
Chester Illinois needs an Aldi store. If they build one here in Chester Illinois it will create jobs. Also many of us cant make it to Sparta Aldi's because many of us have no car to make it there and/ or we cant afford the gas money to make it there and back. Now if Chester Illinois can build a new Taco Bell (which created jobs) I am sure that Chester Illinois can build an Aldi's store that will create even more jobs. Think about it. Chester Illinois will be making money.
Chester IL could really use an ailis store. It would be very good for are town.

We only have 1 grocery store in our little town. The food is a bit pricey. Aldi has quality food at affordable prices. Our low income town could sure use an Aldi here.
