We the undersigned petition Barnet Council to reject the planning application to demolish the former White Bear Pub in The Burroughs Conservation Area in order to replace it with flats.
We urge the Council to retain the original, centuries-old building and use of the White Bear. The building should be deemed a community asset and used for that purpose, for the community as a pub, cafe, eating place or arts centre.
Barnet Council cannot ignore this momentum any longer. They thought we would just sit back and watch them destroy our history for more overpriced flats but they were dead wrong.

Barnet Council is still ignoring our demands while they plot to pave over our history for luxury flats. These bureaucrats hope we will just get tired and quit so they can hand the White Bear over to developers without a fight.

Lovely pub, brings the whole community together and one of the best pubs around that allows dogs

Used to go here every Friday night with the lads back in the 90s, absolute shame to see them trying to knock down a proper local landmark for more shoe box flats.
