The safety of adults and children should be put first. The number of people who use the footbridge in Sheen Lane with the Mortlake Station crossing is evidence that it would lessen congestion and reduce the risk of an accident. A cycle crossing would also be very safety conscious.

The number of trains and the amount of traffic coupled with access being necessary for children attending Barnes Primary school gives rise to real safety issues.

Please add a footbridge. The crossings are lethal when attempting to cross with young children and cars moving very fast over the crossings, in a tight road, so as ensure they make it across. In truth, given the footfall surely it is unacceptable not to have a footbridge in place.

The difference between the Mortlake level crossing and the White Hart Lane level crossing is striking. At Mortlake you can walk over or haul your bike over if there is a long wait; but at the White Hart Lane crossing you just have to grin and bear it often for several minutes. There is an urgent need for a footbridge to help pedestrians and cyclists at the White Hart Lane crossing.

Barnes Primary School has done its endless best to find a safer way of crossing this junction. Limiting the use of the South Worple Way rat-run would be a good start - ahead only perhaps?

I favour a footbridge here like the one recently installed at Manor Road - but better designed with a roof over the steps instead of the high timber walls at Manor Road

The bridge would make a great deal of difference. All too often we are kept waiting what seems like an extraordinary length of time with no trains passing through, wasting a lot of time. The same applies at Mortlake.

We definitely need a footbridge at White Hart Lane especially as the barriers are down for so long each time a train passes. It would also be safer for cyclist and people on foot
