Could not agree more. Also could something be done about the speeding of traffic down White Hart Lane by cars aiming to get over the level crossing before the gates come down.

This is a very busy crossing for pedestrians and a footbridge is long overdue.

£1-£1.5 million pounds from train tickets seems a lot.
If anyone sets-up a trust fund to invest in the sites on http://p2pmoney.co.uk then I might add a few tenners. If the trust earns over 10% - which is possible - then it doubles every 7 years. When it reaches half a million maybe Network Rail will do a deal like
- trust fund pays half its interest after inflation towards track maintenance if Network Rail pays for bridge
- trust fund pays towards the cost of the bridge and closes.
Nobody wants to be the first to pay money into a trust fund so I suggest http://www.zequs.com/ or whatever no-commission pledge site exists to get pledges of support together.
Meanwhile a sign on the crossing to say there is a bridge however-many hundred yards to the west would be good. And if anyone sets up a pledge and then a trust fund, a sign advertising that would be good too.

Nearly got run over by speeding car trying to get over crossing. Took photo on camera but driver (woman) was completely unfazed. Urgent need for footbridge please.

As motorist and pedestrian having to cross White Hart Lane several times a week, a footbridge might ease the crowds of pedestrians, bikes, small children and buggies and make it safer when frustrated motorists are often held up as long as 10 minutes between trains, resulting in drivers gunning their accelerators and racing dangerously fast past vulnerable pedestrians and cyclists.

I imagine a footbridge could be put in with a bit of imagination and ingenuity. It may mean moving some of the railway equipment put beside the barriers which will not make Network Rail happy of course. But to suggest that trains be delayed for the crossing to be open longer is going too far. We (especially those who prefer public transport to cars) need trains that run frequently (and I think Network Rail and SW Trains do well on this score) and on time (but they don't do so well on this and I wonder how much late running affects barrier down time). Other solutions need to be employed to assist pedestrians. Allocating enough space for, an constructing a foot bridge would be one. It an very important issue. We mustn't forget that lives could - and may have been - at a risk from those who possibly understandably lose patience with waiting for what often seems an unnecessary long time..

A footbridge would reduce congestion at peak times, particularly during the school run in the morning which is the most dangerous time, with large numbers of families with young children 'clumping' on the narrow pavement and drivers taking risks turning into and out of the narrow side streets.

At this v busy crossing a footbridge is a must but better control of the barriers at White Hart Lane,Sheen Lane and Vine Road would decrease traffic jams greatly.

Does anyone know where to look-up the nitty-gritty cost of a footbridge? Or technicalilties like whether the kit comes-up second hand? I don't want to push-up fairs if there is a good cheap option.

It would be great to have a footbridge here. I often wait ages for barriers to open both during rush hours and late at night. If I am crossing at sheen lane I always use the bridge

Action on this dangerous crossing is long(at least three decades)overdue-and the narrowness of the crossing and the road layout present specific hazards not encountered at the Sheen Lane crossing.
