definitely - there should be as many bridges over railway crossings as poss to avoid these tragic & unnecessary deaths. And where there's a school nearby ???? It's a no brainer !!!!

Quoted for anyone interested in getting donations & outdoor advert revenue into a high interest trust fund that could start paying for bridges. I guess that whoever restricts ads on level crossings would allow ads that pay for a trust fund for a bridge.

It's quite frightening using a buggie with my grandchildren in it on that
crossing - fighting for space.If a lorry grabs straps/a bag from the buggie it's a horrific accident waiting to happen.

I am a road user on this road and feel that the traffic is too close to pedestrians especially the children in the busy rush hour and during the dark afternoon in winter.

The White Hart Lane crossing is not only dangerous now, it will become increasingly so as we have more school expansion in the area. It's vital that the crossing is made safer.

We lived in the Sheen/Barnes area for about 35 years and nearly always found pedestrians and cyclists at this level crossing. Spending money on a footbridge would save much time and considerably increase safety for all.

Afterthought:
Advertising on the fence next to the gates might pay a few pounds a year.
Maybe someone in the trade can say how you value a hoarding there and how you judge what it's worth and whether a big firm should do the job or a local trust and a market like buysellads. I don't know; Buysellads is in the US and not the one I'm trying to remember that flogs print and poster advert space alongside online space, but, this being West London, someone will probably know how to raise a few pounds a year this way.

A bridge would be a good idea as the level crossing is in constant use. It would be safe for everyone using the crossing especially children.

Much of the infrastructure along this stretch of track, as well as its general upkeep, is in need of improvement. Due to it's age, its capabilities and capacity are no longer suited to modern times. The installation of better and safer facilities, such as proper crossing places, is a necessity.

I have lived in White Hart Lane for almost 30 years. I consider that footbridge to be a fabulous idea.

I like the idea of fines for obstructing the highway!
The opposite argument I suppose is that someone probably got squashed by a train and so some rule suggests a long stopping distance allowed between the closing of the gate and the position of the train at that time. There might have been an online petition.
Add to that any simplications by software-writers, lags added to reduce staff costs, and you can get a long wait at the crossing. I agree with you and the other posters who have said that the gates should come-up more.

Could not agree more. Also could something be done about the speeding of traffic down White Hart Lane by cars aiming to get over the level crossing before the gates come down.
