Almost been caught on the tracks with the boom coming down pushing a buggy and pulling a toddler along. It is definitely a dangerous crossing for families with young children.
Bridge further down is OK, but is no use for those with buggies.

I have witnessed so many near misses at this crossing, it is a miracle that there I have not witnessed an accident. The drivers get frustrated with the long wait and inevitably speed over the crossing in a bid to get through just as others race to turn into (or out of) South/North Worple Way or Railway Side. Children get scooters caught in the tracks and oblivious parents have continued on their hands full with buggies and toddlers all trying to stay within the yellow line. It is a death trap.

This is a really dangerous crossing - especially during the busy times when students from Barnes Primary School are having to use the crossing.

A footbridge is a must have and also it allows Network rail to keep the barriers down longer if required as local people are mainly on foot and disincentivises ratrunners from the area. Also like the idea of crowdfunding towards the cost (from John Robertson), I'd put in a few tenners.

A footbridge is long overdue. Crowds of children and parents waiting to cross from both directions gather each morning as there barriers remain down for minutes on end - with no predictability as to how long they will remain closed.
As more local children attend the local secondary school the situation will only get worse.

This footbridge would really increase safety for all pedestrian. It would make a big difference to the school run in both directions stopping children and parents to run across in desperation whenever the barriers are about to come down.

I have concerns every time my child and I use this level crossing. I have seen cars rush through as gates are closing. The traffic is inches away from pedestrians and if the gates have been closed for some time you have a lot of people trying to cross at the same time after they re-open it is very dangerous. Something needs to be done to make this crossing safer.

Such a dangerous, unfriendly place for pedestrians. There's simply nowhere to wait when it gets busy in the morning. Please do something. If in any doubt about the need, go and spend 15 minutes there next Monday morning at 8.30am!

My son walks over this crossing everyday on his way to RPA. It concerns me that given the long waits that the children have to endure on their way to school they might take less care than they should.

This is much needed for the safety of the many children travelling to primary schools either side. Many cars speed up to get across the railway, it's amazing that not more accidents have happened. If there are any doubters just come and observe the amount of pedestrians and cars using this small stretch. It's a major concern and I fully support the footbridge.

We need a footbridge here to make crossing safe and convenient. Given the growing number of cyclists with heavier, child-carrying bicycles, the bridge should be cycle friendly (ideally push-chair too) so that people don't have to carry their bikes over it, but can wheel them instead.

But equally, it would be helpful if there was some kind of logic in the way the gates are controlled.

For the sake of safety on the narrow pavements this is surely essential given that there are roads adjoining at either side of the crossing and a busy garage entrance.

At last something useful from the council. There are years of my life I have lost waiting at that crossing! Perhaps they could follow it up with meaningful residents parking which lasts at least 9-5, 6 days a week rather than the current farce that achieves nothing other than revenue generation for the council.
