Can't see how anyone could possibly not agree that a foot bridge is required urgently and there's clearly space. Must be sorted soon!

A Footbridge is urgently needed. The gates stay close for up to 15mins and when on a school-run etc every minute counts. It is also dangerous when lots of people with small children have to wait during busy times.

Footbridge urgently needed

Moved close by a while ago but I watch people get impatient and can see why sometimes people would think of crossing by climbing the gates, the wait between trains is erratic. I have even waited 15 mins, no train appears and the gates go up. Let us walk over a bridge please.

Excessive variability in train running times is resulting in lengthy closed periods. Local residents need a footbridge, particularly at school opening and closing times.

Getting stuck on the wrong side of the crossing means sometimes I dont get to see my daughter before she goes to bed! Thats just crazy. Not to mention that every day I see people pushed into the road and in front of cars because the walkways are too narrow

I have been using this crossing for many years and have suffered sometimes for 30 mins in winter waiting for the barriers to rise. This is sheer inconvenience but the real danger is the growth of people with children especially at peak times. Crowds are often cold and in a hurry and I often witness dangerous situations. If something is not done there is bound to be a serious accident sometime. I see the building of a pedestrian footbridge as an absolute priority.

Its a poor system that could easily be improved.

This level crossing creates a traffic nightmare. It is especially bad for anyone trying to get to any business appointments, as there is no indication how long the barrier will be down, and no timetable anywhere to tell you when it will be down. I'm sure all of Barnes is fed up with it.

A bridge will not help the vehicle traffic. Why is it necessary to have the gates down for 5 minutes with no train passing? If we can discover the vibrations from a black hole collission 1.6 billion years ago it cannot be beyond the whit of man to devise a more user friendly and safe system.

A footbridge is essential to improve the daily lives of the local community. This crossing is arguably the busiest in the country, with recorded barrier down times often in excess of 20 mins. It is a Network Nightmare.

Having spent countless hours waiting at the White Hart Lane crossing while taking my son to and from school from 2001 to 2008 and watching the continuing delays for pedestrians in recent years, it is high time to save future generations from this tedious time wasting purgatory. Lately, increased waiting times and busier traffic have made this crossing ever more dangerous. It is time for a bridge!

This is essential and must be constructed to prevent any accidents.

Excessively conservative barrier closure time has counterproductive effect by increasing risk taking in the rush by all to cross. No other country holds barriers down for so long.

Bad enough to be stuck at the crossing in a car but when you are elderly or very young and it's freezing and wet, its not just unpleasant, it's dangerous

I live in close proximity to the WHL crossing and have been shocked by the effect that the crossing has on motorists and pedestrians. Something that would help in the short term would be the addition of a footbridge. Especially, to protect the safety of children and their parents.

A pedestrian footbridge is absolutely necessary just like further down near another school. My child is frustrated that I will not let him walk to school on his own, and the reason is that I think the level crossing is too dangerous. Obviously bikers and mothers with prams will still cross the railway line but the other pedestrians would use the footbridge and help reduce the flow, hence make it safer.

There's a large number of pedestrians (especially children) and frustrated drivers using this very slow crossing at the same time. A footbridge is needed to stop this dangerous mix and make it safer for everybody.
