White Fences

This decision is extremely disrespectful to the residents of Bella Vista.

I vote we eliminate much of the POA structure, if not ALL of it.

This needs to stop. What will be next, white garage doors?

This is a petty abuse of power by an arbitrary and irrelevant commission. It’s not just the ego of the ACC that infuriates me, or the cowardly way they announce their edict, but just how stupidly out of touch, indifferent, and heartless they are. The vast majority of Bell Vista are elderly people on a fixed income; to only give the citizens a few months to get their fences repainted or replaced or else be fined, they’re putting a good portion of our population in a very difficult situation financially. This has me fuming mad.

How else can I help shut this down?

I don't believe that the POA has the authority to dictate the color of our fences.

I, personally, love the looks of a white fence. Please give on this one, Buddy. Most of us Bella Vista citizens try our best to maintain a pleasing property. You HAVE done an efficient job keeping our city pleasant to look at, but the white fence restriction does go too far considering the owner's costs involved.

When they pay my house payment, they can paint fences whatever color they want.

White fences are not something that anyone at the ACC should worry about. White matches a lot of trim such as windows, columns and other items and compliments many homes in the area very well. ACC never says anything to homeowners who have wooden fences that are falling down and look horrible. I’ve seen some horrible colors on garage doors as well and no one at the ACC seems to care about that! If all the ACC has to worry about is white fences, their priorities are completely screwed up. How about worrying about the potholes in these roads or making some home homeowners clean up their yards to look decent?

The below statements are taken directly from the ACC Policies and Procedures Manual: "However, the ACC shall not: A. Adopt or enforce standards in an unreasonable, arbitrary or capricious manner; B. Fail to act in a common sense approach in the execution of its responsibility with fairness in an even-handed, non-discriminatory manner; C. Accord preferential treatment to any one individual or group of individuals; D. Allow personal aesthetic considerations to guide its decisions. ACC actions should be supportable as the decisions of a reasonable prudent resident committed to the establishment and management of the general welfare of the community; E. Seek to regulate taste and personal preference by disguising its decision with special concern for health, safety, and welfare, or F. Substitute its personal preferences and taste for those of an individual property owner. " ACC, Please give us one valid reason why you are opposed to white fences.

It’s time to stop the BS in our city! If it maintained what difference does it make what color it is! They shld b more interested in all these wooden fences that are old, delapidated and falling dwn! The homeowner shld be responsible for their fences, yards, home, etc! But making us get rid of beautiful white fences is ludicrous!

Keep the white fences. White is beautiful too.
