2019 marks 200 years of slave trades, discrimination, hate, as well as disgrace toward African Americans. Although you might be correct if abolishment is the discussion, but the true history is slowly, but surely deteriorating. In our generation, kids aren’t getting proper learning about said history, or it’s from the wrong source, not enough activities & visuals to broadcast what went wrong, children viewing black and white hate crimes for petty reasoning, miseducation of continued slavery overseas as well as the Americas and so on.
Technology and documentaries still lack what’s really missing and why our ancestors were treated dishonestly. Experience is something our children look forward to and going about it a “protective” way isn’t helping. Adults as well should find the missing pieces of their history without having to go far from home.
College classroom doesn’t provide the necessary information for improvement and aren’t too lax about the subject.
An educational “cruise ship” once a year between Fall/Winter season can provide all the basics of the slave trade, including fashion & style, cuisine, traditions and transitions from Africa to America, lifestyles such as entertainment etc; complexities too like detailed atmosphere and descriptions, secrets if you know where to look.
I believe we can find happiness in something tragic and use this example as a building block for something greater. A tour of our black history will be a sure fire way to kickoff our 200year anniversary!
Event will take place @ Bayside/South Beach with celebratory, kid-friendly entertainment and march for said cause.
200 LUCKY GUEST (150 Adults; 50kids 16+) WILL BE CHOSEN AT RANDOM FROM THESE TWO LOCATIONS AND WILL HEAD INTO THE CRUISE SHIP. WILL LAST 7DAYS/NIGHTS. PARTICIPANTS WHO MAKE IT THROUGH THE END WILL EMBARK ON A SPECIAL VACATION.
