As a Penn alumnus it is very concerning that these comments were made by a Penn faculty member and former department chairman. It is alarming that any place of learning would condone such views. I have a hard time believing that Peter is the only person qualified for such a position, just as I doubt some form of disciplinary action would not be taken had this been a professor in another department. His comments are not protected under academic freedom, as they do not pertain to his field of study, nor are they academic in nature.

As an alum of the Wharton School I believe Linnerman should be fired immediately. If the school does not fire him Asian alumni and donors should consider that Wharton condones such raciat behavior.

He is not fit to be a professor for two reasons.
One, he's a racist. Education is one of the areas where meritocracy should rule - not orientalist thoughts from the barbaric age of Western imperialism.
Two, he's very dumb. If women don't want to have sex with Chinese men then how did China become one of the most populous nations on earth?

This guy has racial bias against Chinese men. That means that as an educator, he has the power to act upon those racial biases to disadvantage any student who may be of Chinese or East Asian descent. I don't think that's a good thing to have if one is an educator. Out with this guy.

Racism should never be existed in this great country. To be kind to a racist is to be cruel to our descendants!

It's obvious it's very unfair to have a heavily discriminating professor like this to be teaching to the minds of these students. The actions taken towards the professor will show the school's true colors for the future.

I can't believe such a racist person can be an educator in such a prestige school to continue to poison our young people's mind. Disgraceful.

Absolutely unacceptable. By the wall, you currently have Linneman's profile under "News Coverage." Here are the WSJ article and a mirror to link instead:

Peter Linneman should be stripped of his status at the school. He is the opposite of inclusion. He holds on to racist psuedo-scientific notions that influence his choices in everyday life. This will affect the students he comes into contact him. I recommend the school terminate him immediatly. I will not consider or endorse Wharton School as a good university until this is done.
Sincerely,

It's October 1st, 2016 and I am still thinking it's 1900s. This type of racist people shouldn't be teaching at any university. If Wharton keeps him on as professor, then Wharton is nothing is just another racist school in America.
