We are tired of paying high utiltiy bills from WGL. Our utility bill is higher than many of our house payments. We are signing this petion, which we are asking the city of Albany, GA to allow other companies to serve the customers and or to have WGL regulated. There are many of us who have to chose whether we are going to pay our utilities, buy food, pay rent/house payment, or even to purchase our medicines. Once we pay that utility bill, there is very little money left for other life's necassaties. Please sign this petition to have other companies come serve us or that the government regulate WGL.
Reaching one thousand signatures signals that the burden of these utility costs is shared across our entire community. It is a sobering reflection of the difficult choices so many of our neighbors face each month. This milestone confirms that the current situation requires serious attention from those in power.

WGL definitely needs some competition! They can charge whatever they want because they have a monopoly on utilities in the Albany area. When I lived in Atlanta and had GA Power and Natural Gas, my combined bills were never even half the amount that I pay now with WGL.

I am in the same position. Having recently become guardian of two small children (one a toddler) the cost is taking a toll on our necessities and leaves no room for the little things the children could use. Instead of a new building, lowe're the outrageous rates!

The rates are extremely too high because I'm paying almost the same for rent. My rent is about 500 and my wg&l is 450. And I'm working a minimum wage job it's hard for me to pay the other bills so I had to get some things turned off because wg&l is taking all my money

This is so true! I think it's outrageous that they are making people pay a second deposit if they are disconnected for paying after the due date. Most people live on a fixed income and they have to wait until the very last day to pay the bill

I'm so glad to be away from WGL. I was in a 3 bd 2 bth and my bill was averaging about 480.00 a month. I moved into a 4 bd 3bth and I'm with Mitchell EMC and my bill drops to an average of 230.00. WGL IS A RIP OFF I LOVE MITCHELL

The cost of living is too low and with minimal wage jobs!!! It’s no way they expect us to be able to pay those large amounts???
