We, the people of Wexford, recognise the critical role of mental health services and their accessibility and call for specific beds for patients experiencing crisis mental health to be allocated in Wexford that provide adequate, 24/7 care.
We recognise that mental health does not operate between 9-5pm and Wexford people deserve to be cared for adequately, during their time in crisis.
I was just reading through the messages people are leaving here and it honestly breaks my heart because it is so clear that nobody should be left waiting for help when the clock strikes five. I have been trying to get a straight answer from the local health officials behind the scenes but the lack of urgency is just staggering so I really hope they are starting to feel the pressure we are building up together.

I honestly never thought this would gain so much ground but here we are and it makes me think about all the people who reached out to me personally about the gaps in our local care. It really feels like the town is finally acknowledging that the current setup is just not enough and honestly that realization feels way heavier and more important than I expected.

Had to drive to Waterford last year with someone to be told it would be at least 12 hours to be assessed, that's after her own doctor refusing to see her and Wexford hospital sent her down after a 4 hour wait.

24hours/7days
9am-5pm monday to friday OK, but not good enough.
Mental health is trauma to the body just like a broken arm etc, It's needs 24/7/365 emergency help.

This is an essential service for Wexford, mental health beds should be in every county. Waterford is full most of the time.

24 hour beds and mental health services needed in Wexford as people are at breaking point looking after loved ones with mental health and the ones with mental health suffering and resorting to desperate measures as no facilities available.

The lack of mental health services in Wexford is below substandard. Local-level services are needed in all small towns and villages!
