Petition to Remove the Glazer Ownership from Manchester United

We, the undersigned fans of Manchester United Football Club, demand an immediate change in ownership and the removal of the Glazer family from our beloved club. Since their leveraged buyout in 2005, the Glazers have continuously prioritized personal financial gain over the success and integrity of Manchester United. Their tenure has been characterized by debt accumulation, mismanagement, and a disregard for the values that make this club one of the greatest in football history.

1. Financial Mismanagement – The Glazers’ leveraged buyout saddled the club with enormous debt, diverting funds away from squad investment, infrastructure, and footballing excellence. The club has paid over a billion pounds in interest, dividends, and other financial costs that could have been used for player recruitment and stadium improvements.
2. Decline in Sporting Success – Since Sir Alex Ferguson’s retirement in 2013, the club has struggled to maintain its position among Europe’s elite. A lack of footballing vision, poor recruitment policies, and managerial instability have hindered our ability to compete for top honors consistently.
3. Neglect of Old Trafford and Facilities – Once the pinnacle of football stadiums, Old Trafford is now outdated and in dire need of renovation. Training facilities have also fallen behind the standards set by our rivals, further hampering the club’s progress.
4. Disrespect Towards Fans – Ticket price increases, lack of transparency, and the infamous attempt to join the failed European Super League in 2021 all highlight a disconnect between the Glazers and the fans. The club’s ownership has continuously ignored the voices of supporters who are the lifeblood of Manchester United.

Lack of Footballing Ambition – Instead of running the club with a football-first mentality, the Glazers have treated Manchester United as a business venture, prioritizing commercial revenue over on-pitch success. This has resulted in subpar performances, wasted transfer funds, and a culture of mediocrity.

We call upon the Glazer family to sell Manchester United to responsible owners who have the club’s best interests at heart. We urge all stakeholders, including government authorities, potential investors, and football governing bodies, to facilitate a transition of ownership that prioritizes the club’s long-term success, stability, and integrity.
