I just discovered recently that my residence at 4 Cochrane avenue has been mistakenly zoned as a COMMERCIAL entity since 1992 by the municipality and I have been paying the much higher COMMERCIAL rate . What recourse do I have and who can I contact to help me correct this ? Thanks

Rates increase between 2012 and 2017 is 86% which makes affordability an issue. It looks like the value and factor has been increased with inflation which is wrong.

My rates incread by 45%. This is rubbish. The Value of my house has actually decreaced in our area in the last year due to the crime

Why has rates rates increase by 66.9%...The maths is wrong....u have allowed for inflation twice :(

My rates will increase by 36% indicating that the market value of my house has increased by R440 000.00, I totally disagree with this valuation, the fact is that because of crime that is let unattended by the city the value of our property has dropped significantly. The for sale boards are staying longer then before of which clearly indicates the difference between the buyer and the sellers view of the area.
