We are a single family renting a home on cliffside dr. and we have been experiencing a lot of difficulty with the owners who are trying to force another family into the illegal basement unit. When no one was willing to live in it, they increased our rent by 46%, claiming it was the new market value. The home is in bad shape and needs many repairs, every time we ask them to fix something, they threaten to increase the rent. We would like to see our landlords accountable to laws and codes regarding additional living space and and DO NOT want this home turned into a multi-family home! If rent-control were to be established, it would slow the rate at which Absentee Landlords are buying up property and turning them into rooming houses as well! We've lived in this neighborhood for 25 years and would like to preserve its quality of life!

Even though the parking situation on my street is difficult, I was not allowed to pave when I requested to pave my front yard for a second parking space when I moved into my house ten years ago. Now it's apparently being allowed, presumably because of the drought? But I much prefer a brown lawn to a stone one. The paved yards are ugly, and contributing to pollution from all the extra cars.

Thank you for doing this. It's way overdue and I'm glad to be a part of helping our neighborhood.

20 year resident of Daly City. We need our elected officials to listen to our point of view-enforce existing regs on boarding house and we will reduce the issue with parking - DON'T make DC a concrete jungle!!
