Take back the wonderful community we raised our children in. We deserve enforcement of our zoning laws. Laws have meanings

After 49 wonderful years in Daly City, we are saddened by the failure of the City to protect us from the destruction of our neighborhoods. Paving over our front yards will turn us into an ugly urban blight unfit to live in. Unenforced zoning will lead to a downward spiral of urban blight. We deserve better.

Moved to an area 23 years ago with a homeowners association for a reason. I wanted a quite respectable neighborhood for my kids to grow up in. Don't allow the neighborhood to be messed up with your liberal policies. I don't want another San Francisco.

Thank you for supporting the effort to take control of our community away from outsiders and give it to the Residents. We have over 500 people who have signed the petitions—you are in good company!! We will be addressing the City Council at City Hall this evening, Monday, Sept 11, at the end of their public meeting. Please come and support us! Arrive at 8:15 pm and support our speakers. We need some folks from the Olympic, St Francis and Westlake Northwest (near the shopping Center and out to Skyline) to give short talks—an easy job, we just want you to repeat some of the comments that came in with the petitions. I will help you. If you are concerned about what is happening to the community, we all need to put our shoulders to the wheel and PUSH! Tonight is the BIG GAME! Get in here and HELP! At 6 pm there will be an open meeting with the Council where they are going to discuss the paving front yards issue. Those who can attend should show up for it…go eat…return at 8:15 for the Council meeting. There will be a community meeting at Doelger Center Cafeteria on Thursday evening, September 14 from 7:30 – 9:00 pm. Tonight, we will be inviting some of the City officials to attend the community meeting to signify their eagerness to work with us. YOU CAN HELP: Send messages to your facebook friends, send tweets, print the flier on the website www.dcres.org---keep a couple copies with you and hand them out during the day. I am getting reports from our Residents about strangers bringing the topic up over at Joe’s of Westlake and in the shopping center. Everybody is working to push this issue—please help. Call me or send me an e-mail with your phone number if you would be able to speak this evening. It is a simple task…I will help you. Regards, Rich Swan [email protected] 650 992 7100

Please no concrete lawns. It kills the charm of Westlake homes. I do not want a cement jungle like San Francisco Sunset District. Beautify Daly City, not make it like an industrial city.

The neighborhood feel of Westlake is disappearing. How can you have a community who knows and looks out for each other when you have rooming houses of revolving tenants? And the City of Daly City doesn't seem to care.

As a 34-year resident of Westlake, the decline of our neighborhood due to the Uber partner center and the "rooming house" explosion is appalling.

Keep us from looking like a cement jungle and let us take pride in our community and our homes.

Keep the cars off of the lawn area. Paving is a band aid solution and turns our neighborhood into a giant parking lot. Let's keep the A-1 zoned neighborhoods as single family homes. If you want to rent your home you get 1 lease. Sub-leases should be illegal.
