I understand that this is an economic decision, but really, it should be a social one.

I don’t understand why the government would not allow ongoing funding to support those kids who have improved via not going mainstream. Being rural this is a major source for those who are bullied at school and do not progress where as this form of education has proven that it works.
I have seen one child grow, learn and from not wanting to get educated to changing his mind but also fighting for it!

This school is quite often the last resort for these students, if it closes what other options are available? We need to offer these students every opportunity to be the best they can, for not only themselves but the community.

I have worked at the crèche that supported this school. They lost that facility and now they have lost everything.
I personally know 2 students attending this school right now. They are there for a reason. They have the right to an education.

With the closing of alesco all students including myself have been devastated, teachers and perants have hated the news about the closing of alesco because we were all doing amazingly. Alesco has provided more opportunities then all the other schools have, sincerely Caleb

Strongly think this should try to continue on as there are many children that have come a long way and feel so much better about themselves

A minority of students cannot function in main stream school for a variety of reasons. That doesn't mean they should miss out on an education. Closing Alesco would not be beneficial to current or future students.
Fingers crossed
