This skate park was a poor endeavour when I last lived in Aberdeen in 2006! With all the anti-skating street furniture add-ons put in place in most of aberdeen since what, 1996? Skaters have less and less places to practice. They've needed a proper, large dedicated outdoor/free space to do this since the sport came to britain in 60's let alone now! It's not just kids that would use this space. I'm 40, I skate. If my rollerderby club is anything to go by, GCRD would also welcome a new skate park.

Aberdeen is in need of a good free skatepark. While Transition Extreme is an amazing park, it is very expensive. All the concrete parks in Aberdeen were poorly designed and even more poorly executed.

My sons would love the skatepark to be improved at Westburn Park. There is hardly any skateparks in town.

As a local I can say that this park has seen better days and whilst it's still fun to ride, a bigger, fresher street plaza would be a great addition to Aberdeen skate / Bmx scene
