I used to be a member at the Y and used the WSP Y a great deal. I will not consider re-joining the Y as long as this policy is in place.

What is unreasonable about providing a locker room to the minority/gender-conflicted individuals, and leave the majority /gender-biologically stable individuals to their current status? Let's be honest, fair and seek to also honor those individuals-the majority who have been and are the main users and financial backbone of the Y.

Seriously? I'm supposed to tell my 8 yr old daughter that a man may be in the locker room with her unsupervised? Remember the right to privacy, it applies to her as well!

This is crazy. You are opening yourself up to a sexual abuse lawsuit and less members. Please reconsider. My family and I promise to cancel our membership the day this goes through.

I'm wondering why the YMCA can't add a changing/shower area for those whose gender is "in flux"? Why must the majority sacrifice their freedoms, rights and safety for the tiny minority this will serve?

I hope there are sufficient millstones available in W..St. Paul so no one on your board suffers the micro aggression of being left out.

This stance to allow men in the same locker room with women and children is absurd and dangerous. You are not thinking of the terrible consequences of this foolhardy act.

Isn't this policy unlawful, as it allows indecent exposure?

My family and I belonged to the Y for several years and my seven children took swimming lessons there. I have been considering joining LA Fitness or rejoining the Y (now that my children are grown). I would not even consider the Y if the gender identity plan was adopted. Please reconsider.

The very people unisex bathrooms are designed to protect are not protected by this decision the West St. Paul YMCA has made.

Our children benefited greatly from swimming lessons and fun kid nights at the YMCA.
Please reconsider your gender identity plan. Thank you.

I was planning on joining. I absolutely will not if locker rooms are open to any gender rather than single gender.

We will certainly not join this Y if the locker rooms are not biologically gender separate. This concerns the safety of my children.

First, I would like to say that we were considering a return as members. We will not join if the YMCA allows anyone to use the locker room of their desire. You are putting our children at risk! Allowing men to enter a female locker room would likely compel any pedophile to take advantage of such opportunity and harm one of our children. It is enough already that people have no consideration for others and walk around in the nude after their workouts. What ever happened to modesty? You are trampling on our rights by pushing this sex equality NONSENSE! KEEP THE LOCKER ROOMS SEPERATE!

My son had a membership recently with another Y (canceled due to a move ) and we have other children who would like a membership. However, we would only consider another membership if the locker rooms remain biological gender separate. This is for the safety of the children.

We believe in the dignity of all people, but respectfully ask that you keep genders separate according to biological sex in regards to locker rooms/restrooms.
