The leadership at the YMCA is ignoring truth and reality about gender. There are very few people, a small minority, who are confused about their gender but the rest of us should not have to suffer the humiliation and exposure of young kids to those of the opposite gender because of their confusion. We are making rules for the exceptions now, not for the general population, and it is wrong! It is morally wrong to allow men to change with the women and vice versa. How would one know if a male is pretending to be a female so he has access to the locker room for his own personal peep show, or worse, rape? Yet, we wonder why our kids are so confused when adults can't even make moral decisions! No, bathrooms should be for one gender only!

There are only two types of DNA -either male or female. The lockers should reflect that FACT as opposed to someone's "feelings" about who they are. Respect for the safety of the XX DNA members and their privacy is imperative.

Allowing a minority of people with gender identity issues to choose whichever restroom or locker room they would like to use infringes on the majority of people's right to privacy which is breaking privacy law. We need to accommodate the needs of those with gender identity issues and those without this issue. Both are created and loved by our God. We have family bathrooms that could be used for this purpose. Remodeling needs to be done to make individual showers and changing rooms available for those who need this accommodation.

This only opens the door to many other situations which the Y may be liable for because of their decision.

The thought of this is disgusting and immoral. Young people will be hurt very badly. This is sinful and it is hard to believe that it is lawful.

I don't feel safe having my children go to the ymca if I know there is a possibility that a biological male could be in the women's locker room (that's the point of men's and women's locker rooms -so we don't change in front of each other. Thank you for listening to my concerns

Completely inmoral, we should not even have to discuss this kind of things. Why can't we drive on the left side of the road in America? Someone will get killed, same way the more vulnerable will suffer, with this kind of policy. Reconceder please!

We have a family membership at the Y in IL. I am there 5 days a week. We would stop our membership immediately if this policy was instituted. This is outrageous and wrong for so many reasons, already well stated. Listen to your members YMCA! The majority do NOT want this!

YMCA is not only responsible for the physical condition of their members, mbut also for the complete person, including their spiritual and moral condition. A person is made up of more than the physical part.

1 in 4 women experience sexual molestation or abuse (Men as well, but the number is lower.)
Why would you want to further traumatize roughly 25% of your patrons by creating a situation that will feel uncomfortable and unsafe?

Common sense and the obvious is being sabotaged. If this policcy continues and expands to Burnsville where I am a member i will conclude my membership. Feelings are not facts. If a person has male bodily characteristics he must use the male locker room! Same principle for females. This protects the integrity, privacy and modesty of the MAJORITY.

It seems that there are better ways to accommodate than to infringe upon everyone else. For example, unisex / family restrooms. It is probably even a better solution for the people this policy is supposed to support.

Policies like this prevent us from attending the Y, not flocking to it. If our children can't be protected at the Y anymore, we will no longer be members to any location. All reason, logic, and common sense is being destroyed with policies such as these.

If this happens, I will cancel our membership. That would be a pity, since we use this Y in WSP many times a week--and so do our kids!
