Please wait until September 2019to implement the change. Don’t make the decision for this change to be based on saving money, our kids Are worth more than the bottom dollar.

The numbers they used to justify this sudden and complicated transition are completely disingenuous. All one would need to do is compare the numbers and do their own math to understand why parents are not supporting this action for 2018.

It was all a big rush, my opinion I completely disagree with the changes being made for 2018. We need more time as parents and students to pre pair for such a big change. My 5th grader is being rushed and it's all overwhelming how it's happened so fast reguardless of how parents and students feel.

I attended the "voting" meeting and was shocked that a decision could be made so quickly with the level of lack of information and lack of planning presented. The parents brought attention to many valid concerns and issues...but it was clear the board had already made their decision. The board's sidestepping of "procedures" was an incredible disappointment, and now parents, students and teachers are being forced into a timeline that is simply too quick.

I wholeheartedly support the request stated in the above comments. A grade reconfiguration requires sensitive thought and a well designed plan in order to be successful. So far, the board has not shown sufficient evidence of a plan that would be considered appropriate for our children nor one that can be realistically designed by the end of this school year for September implementation.
I urge the board to examine other middle school models that are and have been designed in other districts and to adopt the elements that appropriately bridge the gap between elementary, middle and high school.
It is highly inappropriate to place 10 and 11 year old children into a middle school culture that is uncomfortably similar to that of high school. It is imperative that GMS specifically is redesigned to be more age appropriate and that the Grade 9 cohort be able to move ahead with their peers from CNB middle school.
